Why You Should Submit To Article Directories
by major ~ January 14th, 2008. I have compiled several reasons on why you should submit to an article directory:
- Article Directories Are Free. Almost 99% of article directories are free, only a small percentage asks for payment mostly those with specific niche.
- Backlinks And More Backlinks. With every article you submit, you are always allowed to include 2-3 links in your resources page. Aside from that, there’s a few article directory that allows html in the body of the article to give you additional links.
- Free Promotion. Article sites serves as circulation center for contents. You submit and others reprint it to their sites giving your writings a bigger audience so you should always grab the opportunity, write something sensible enough to gain interest.
- No Expirations. Once you submit, it sticks as long as the article directory stays alive and even continue to spread as others reprint your article. Unlike buying links for months or years.
There are still some other reasons like giving your business a personality or style but the ones I’ve mentioned above seems to be the top among others.
By the way, if you’re looking for a faster way of submitting your article, you can try digiXMAS Article Submitter wherein you can submit to 500 directories within 15 minutes.

Hi,
You’re absolutely correct about the benefits of using articles for marketing or promoting a website or service.
And in regards to your point about backlinks, submitting to niche directories can be even more valuable in regards to the search engines and targeted human eyeballs: aka potential customers or website/newsletter/blog owners who may want to use your article and give you credit and links…
I have a free resource page with over 200 article directories that are not only ranked by Google PR (a decent barometer of link value and traffic), but also separated by type. And the niche directory section is especially worthwhile submitting to, regardless of PR rank, if its theme is the same as your article’s topic and the website it links to.
The SEs understandably value inbound links from a similarly themed website (the article directory site) to your own website, because its “on topic”.
Just my 2 cents and I linked my name here to go to that article directory list page.
Regards,
- Steve
