Have you ever heard of a song related to search engine optimization? And what if a known seo guru performs it live? Oh man, I couldn’t say more as I almost fell laughing when I saw this video by Benj Arriola, the SEO World Championship winner.

SEMCON Philippines 2007

Looks like it’s official! After having the buzz as early as February this year with Marc Macalua looking for speakers and sponsors, I am now 99% sure that the SEMCON Philippines 2007 is definitely coming as I have seen the banner announcing the event in the SEOPhilippines forum.

As what the (seems like official) site says, the biggest event this year for local and might even be international search engine marketing individuals will be held in The Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Intercontinental in Makati City Philippines on October 9-10 this year.

SEO Jobs Demand

I came upon indeed.com earlier wherein users can search for thousands of jobs and played around with its trends graph feature in which you can find the number of jobs posted.

I queried SEO and had this result:

As you can see on the graph, it shows that within a span of 2 years, the demand for seo increased by almost 275% which gives more stands for persons with search engine marketing skills.

Looks like I have to teach my 2yr old kid some more seo stuffs :-)

Paradise Philippines Campaign Update

just several minutes ago while checking the contest keywords Paradise Philippines in Google, 2 of my entries still holds a position at the first page and several more entry pages at succeeding pages while in Yahoo and MSN, this site, kontrapelo.com starts to slide down its rankings after taking strong first page positions in the past weeks.

This just mean that I still need to work on my sites a bit more if I really want to take this one! I’ve been seeing strong entries from Marghil, Gio, Philip, Eli, and Edward… fellow seoph members!

Underscores As Word Separators

Matt Cutts recently announced that underscores will now be or at least very soon to be treated as word separators by Google. This was his statement at the recent WordCamp 2007 in front of fans and wordpress bloggers….

This explains that urls like http://www.yourdomain.com/car_loans.html will now be read as “car loans” unlike before that it is read by google almighty as “car_loans” wherein we all know that no one will search for it having the underscores.
