I first had an account with them around November 2006 in our house in Manila, never had any serious downtimes or problems with it so when I moved to a new place in Pasay city, I picked smart bro to still be my internet provider. I had this connection since December of 2007 and I already had several downtime experienced and the worst is now. It’s not that I don’t have a connection, it’s just too slow. I am experiencing the problem for 3 continuous days now and this kind of internet service really sucks!

Another worst thing is when I called the customer service. The representative asked me to unplug the internet cable from my cpu, then plug it again. It didn’t work, and then he asked me to turn off my anti-virus and try to surf again. What an idiot! Is this the kind of technical support their customers should have?

Can anybody please suggest a better provider? I’d like to switch to a better one though I am still within the 1-year locked-in contract with them.

That was all due to quite a number of clients coming in after completing a seo service perfectly. But still I want to find a little time to post an entry for this blog as I want to join the latest buzz in the local blog scene!

I have been reading the story about this Malu Fernandez from several days now at different blogs I have visited and didn’t gave too much attention about it but while checking my referring pages earlier, I came upon the Jester-In-Exile’s Look Malou I Don’t Believe It Was You post wherein I saw the uploaded TV Patrol episode about this stupid columnist who didn’t just put herself stinking in a toilet bowl but ate her own shit after bashing Overseas Filipino Workers which made me realize that I should give my part.
I don’t really post things like this anymore in my blog in the past few months but whenever I see people stepping into my fellow pinoys, even if she’s also a filipino, I can’t resist saying my views onto it.

The freak was said to resigned into her job as a columnist coz according to her, she’s been receiving lots of death threats and hate emails since publishing her article. Hey Malu, I don’t think there’s someone who’s interested to kill you, it won’t be beneficial to anyone as for the whole Philippines now, you’re not even listed into the Census. If I see you, I’ll just kick your ass and let you drink your Jo Malone.

This explains that urls like http://www.yourdomain.com/car_loans.html will now be read as “car loans” unlike before that it is read by google almighty as “car_loans” wherein we all know that no one will search for it having the underscores.

This is great news mostly for Typepad and Movable Type blog users wherein by default uses underscores instead of hyphens. Also, this made me think of using the two platforms now (they’ll surely hit some google traffic now) after getting my free hosted blogs in wordpress closed due to something I wasn’t really aware of. All I know is I used them for the current “Paradise Philippines” seo contest and they’re showing strong in the serp!

First of all, I do now believe that search engine optimization has taken its place in the Philippines. As you can see, lots of participants have already shown their entries for the contest, even outranking the considered strong .gov pages. This is a success for the whole SEO Philippines organization which aims to the development of the search engine marketing industry in our country. Kudos to all the members of the organization.

Next thing I have noticed, Filipino SEO professionals are really doing great in the field. The contest started last July 1 but within 24 hours, I have already seen changes in the result for the specified keyword. Entries from Philip Tiangson of tiangson.com and a certain Garry Baybayan of ayumanize.com where the first ones to break the first page results in almost half a day. That was really fast and amazing.

Social Bookmarker works. After making a post for my entry, I submitted it in several social bookmarking sites and in less than an hour, I have seen one link wherein my story was submitted and it’s in the top 100 pages for the keyword already. If you will check other strong entries, or even the results for the query, it all shows signs of social bookmark syndication. If you will have a look at the preview I have clipped, it shows a link from wists.com (I have marked it with red) wherein my story was submitted. Take a look on the date which says July 7, the same date I am posting this and the same date my contest blog entry was posted.

One more thing I have noticed is that domain doesn’t really give that  much advantage. I am seeing domains that don’t bear the keyword but still proves to be a strong competitor. There are new domains which outranks the old ones and there are even crappy names that shows some potentials.
Though it is too early to give final words for this, seeing this things are something to take note of. It might change tomorrow but still it happened which might give us more things to look out for in our seo practice.
